GURUKUL MANAGEMENT STUDIES, KOLKATA always inspires students to take action and encourage them to do something positive by changing the way they look at things. We put in continuous efforts in programming minds of students for future success.

The Department of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, at Gurukul Management studies, was set under affiliation of M.A.K.U.T (formerly known as W.B.U.T) in 2004, to bridge the gap in the demand & supply of manpower for Hospitality service industry. The course enables students to complete their education with Specialization and Research Project in the area of their own interest in Hospitality Service Industry. To strengthen the skill in each operational area, department provides well equipped practice lab. The Food and Beverage Production Lab enables students to acquire first hand culinary skills in production of Indian and International cuisine in individual and quantity preparations, Bakery and Confectionary delicacies. The Food Service lab supports students to develop skills in international styles of Foods and Beverages display and table services. Both Production and Service Training have enough scopes to establish their innovative ideas too. The Front Office lab helps acquiring highest degree of etiquettes and protocols to handle people of Social, National and International VIP and Celebrities .The House-Keeping lab portrays top class hotel guest rooms supported with laundry services enables students to practice interior services and facility providence to guest rooms. Computer lab practice with latest hotel operation software is a compulsory for the students since modern hospitality management is fully dependent on automated system. Furthermore, the most modern Language lab lends support to groom students in active global communication. In spite of above the students are to undergo an Industrial Training for an entire semester of six months organized in top rank Indian hotel properties . The department provides number of Seminars, Workshops and Lecture sessions, in regular interval, enriching students and faculties and professional stake holders in sharing the knowledge and skill of eminent National and International Professionals and Educators.
